Miss Cougar is a worldwide pageant that is just for sexy cougars. Amy Luna Manderino, who won Miss Cougar International in 2011, explains how she got into the contest and how the contest works in one news article. She found out about the competition through a cougar-cub meetup. Once in the competition, she was judged by men of all ages.
Apparently they all liked her because she won the regional competition, meaning she won the title, a tiara and a cruise to the Bahamas! Then she won the Miss Cougar California competition, which led her to get an all-expenses-paid trip to International Cougar Week at Hedonism II, a notorious fun and sexy swinger resort in Jamaica. It was there that Amy Luna competed in casual and evening wear competitions, as well as answering questions before winning by a landslide! Her prize was another trip to Jamaica.
However, unlike some pageants, the contestants of Miss Cougar are more than just a hot body. Ms. Manderino is a member of Mensa and created a new method for learning musical instruments. The first Miss Cougar USA, Gina Navarro, is a successful management consultant, and feels she won because she’s confident, strong and independent. At the time she won, she was recently divorced and had just begun to explore her cougar identity by going to conventions and dating younger men, using online sites like MatureKiss.com.
“There are more cougars than ever looking to meet young cubs. We are an out and proud bunch,” says Sarah-Jean, a cougar and event coordinator at MatureKiss. These pageants are a great way to celebrate older women, and not just for their looks!
